Accessibility statement
Solvex should be usable by every tenant, landlord and agent, including People of Determination. This statement explains the standard we aim for, what we have done, where we still fall short and how to tell us about a barrier.
Draft under legal review. This text has not yet been approved by UAE-qualified counsel and must not be relied on.
Text in highlighted brackets is still to be confirmed by Solvex and its legal advisers.

The short version
- We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we design with WCAG 2.2 in mind.
- Solvex works fully in Arabic and English, with right-to-left layout, adjustable text size, a high-contrast mode, keyboard access and screen-reader labels.
- Some parts are not yet fully accessible, including the PDF case file and photos without good captions. We list them below with our plans.
- If something stops you using Solvex, email mvp@solvexdev.com and we will help you complete the task another way.
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what applies.
1Our commitment
Keeping a fair record of a tenancy should not depend on how you see, hear, move or read. Solvex is built so that People of Determination, older users and people using small phone screens or assistive technology can create, review and respond to tenancy records on equal terms. This commitment reflects the UAE's approach to digital inclusion and the accessibility expectations that Dubai sets for digital services.
2The standard we aim for
Our target is conformance with WCAG 2.1 level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We also follow the additional WCAG 2.2 criteria where we can, such as visible focus that is not hidden by sticky elements and touch targets of a usable size.
Current status: partially conformant. This means some content does not yet fully meet the standard, as explained in section 5.
3What we have done
- Two languages, both directions
- every page is available in Arabic and English. Arabic pages use a full right-to-left layout, with directional icons mirrored and references such as case numbers and fingerprints kept left-to-right so they read correctly.
- Text size
- the A-, A and A+ buttons at the top of every page make all text smaller or larger. Pages also respond to browser zoom up to 200% without losing content.
- High contrast
- the Contrast button darkens secondary text and borders for easier reading. Your choice is remembered on that device.
- Keyboard access
- every action can be reached with the keyboard, in a logical order, with a clearly visible gold focus outline.
- Skip link
- a "Skip to content" link is the first item on every page, so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation.
- Screen readers
- pages use proper headings, landmarks, labelled form fields and buttons, and announce errors and status changes.
- Reduced motion
- if your device asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions, including the opening animation, are switched off.
- Images
- evidence photos are described by the caption their author writes, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Status without colour alone
- record statuses always use words as well as colour.
- Plain language
- we write short sentences in everyday words, and explain legal terms where they are needed.
- Installable app
- Solvex can be added to a phone's home screen and used like an app, keeping the phone's own accessibility settings.
4Compatibility
Solvex is designed to work with the current versions of:
- browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari, on computers and phones;
- screen readers: VoiceOver on iPhone and Mac, TalkBack on Android, and NVDA and JAWS on Windows;
- operating system tools such as zoom, magnifiers and voice control.
Solvex relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It may not work fully in older browsers.
5Known limitations
We know about the following issues and plan to address them:
- Photo descriptions
- a photo is described only by the caption its author gives. Short captions may not describe what matters. We plan to prompt authors to describe the condition shown.
- PDF case file
- the case file PDF is not yet tagged for screen readers, so its reading order and tables may not be announced correctly. We plan to produce a tagged PDF and to offer the same content as an accessible web page.
- Side-by-side photo comparison
- comparing move-in and move-out photos is visual by nature. Captions and condition notes are shown with each photo, and we plan a text-only comparison view.
- Mixed-language content
- statements are shown in the language their author wrote. A statement written only in English is not translated on Arabic pages.
- Simulated screens
- the simulated UAE PASS, bank and payment screens in this demonstration have not been tested with assistive technology to the same level as the rest of Solvex.
- Third-party pages
- pages run by others, such as UAE PASS or a payment provider, are outside our control.
6How we tested
This statement is based on a self-assessment by the Solvex team, carried out on 15 October 2026. It combined automated checks with manual testing of keyboard navigation, focus order, text resizing, high contrast and right-to-left layout in Arabic. An independent audit, including testing with People of Determination, is planned before launch. [Independent audit date and provider — to be confirmed]
